Kamimoku is located in the northern part of Gunma prefecture, at L N 36 44 098 and l s 138 59 820 (thank you to Sidney Emery for his GPS measurements) .
The location is ideal for hiking throughout the year, skiing from November to April, mushroom picking in the fall, etc.
The
Mayor
The Kamimoku Village started from the initiative of a handful of American, Canadian, and French who built here their wooden lodge twenty five years ago. Since then a variety of other nationalities, including Australian, New Zealander, British, etc., are making this remote place in Northern Gunma a very international community.
Colin Bradley, is among the few pioneers, with also Thomas A. Scully (Tom), and Sidney Emery (here with his wife Odile).
As soon as we are able to catch the Mayor, Jack Mosher (Jack) of course, the Master of the Mountain, also deserves his picture on this page.
To respect the wishes for discretion of the "Fathers" of the Village, and to preserve the peaceful and quite surroundings of this "countryside retreat", not too much publicity is given to this page on the Internet or elsewhere. I shall also refrain from mentioning any addresses or telephone numbers of the Community.
