The newest and largest shopping mall in the Minamaki-Kamimoku
area, which also includes a cash/teller machine section, a barber
shop, a dry cleaning, a bakery, etc. The Beisia area itself
include a wide range of fresh vegetables, grocery, dry food,
Italian, Mexican, Chinese and other Asian food sectipons, etc.,
as well as DIY, pet food and articles, clothing, toys, video and
CD shop, bookstore. For serious DIY shopping, Cainz Homes,
located on the opposite side of Beisia, offers a wider selection.
The shop does not supply alcool but Cainz Homes does. Located a
few hundred meters after the traffic signal and the intersection
for Jomo Kogen station, on Road 63. (map) Make a left turn when
you see Cainz Homes on your right side.
Beisia and Cainz Homes belong to the same business group.

The perfect place to pick up a whole chicken
just roasted from the oven before a pique-nique. The shop is
located in Shimomoku, at the intersection of the road to Numata
and the road (bridge) for Jomo Kogen Shinkansen station. Look for
the 'Wakadoriya' signboard in 'Hiragana'. Whole roasted chicken
("Maru Yaki") must be ordered by phone the previous
day, specifying the weight (normally one kilo or "ichi kilo")
and the pick-up time. Chicken legs can be purchased on the spot.
Whole chicken 1 kg, 1,000 Yen; chicken legs, 240 Yen per piece.

Fast access from the old road to the chalets.
Located close to the newly opened Seven-Eleven Shop in Kamimoku.
Look for the 'Pizza' signboard.
Delicious home-made pizzas, baked or unbaked, are available for
order by telephone for your own pickup. Allow one half-hour after
phone order before pick-up.
Topping available (besides the basic tomato sauce and cheese) are
tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, corn, green peppers, pepperoni -
when available, Kalamata black olives, bacon, shrimp, squid,
clams, scallops. The 10-inch pizzas are from 800-950 Yen
depending on the topping.

A good place to drop by on the road for a
picnic in Tanigawadake or Oze. The shop is located 200 meters
after the crossing between the road to Tenjin Daira and the road
for Oze, after the bridge, on Road 61. All dishes are prepared by
the owner of the shop and it are quite fresh and tasty.
You may find Noriben, Inarizushi, Onigiri, Yakiniku, Menchi,
Hamburger, Croquettes, Fried chicken, Onigiriben, Makunouchiben,
etc., for a price of between 350 and 800 Yen for every dish.

The Salada Kan liqueur shop is located
in Tsukiyono Machi. After the "Crystal Factory", take
the bridge on the 'Tone" river, pass the shrine on the left.
The shop is located on the left hand of the road. It offers a
wide range of French and German wines, and some Italian and
Spanish wine. Prices range from 500 yen for a Franch table wine
to 980 yen for an A.C. Bordeaux to fine Medoc and Bordeaux in the
3,000 / 4,000 Yen price range. Yoshihiro Seki and his wife Yumiko
are the owners the shop and are always very helpful. Credit card
accepted (Visa, Master, JCB, UC).

The liqueur shop Nakamura Shoten near the Kamimoku JR
station offers a good range of French, German, Italian, Spanish
and Chilean wines at a reasonable price.
Small range of Californian, French, Italian and
Japanese wine. From 500 Yen at Cainz for an Italian table wine to
3,000 Yen at Sun Mall for a Medoc 95, but there could be better
conditions for preserving the wine at both shops.

The Miyaji Noen farm in Shimomoku is selling
fresh eggs and has installed an egg vending machine along the
road, opposite side of "Kikori Spaghetti" Restaurant.
Price is 300 Yen for eleven L-size or 17 S-size eggs. The
smallest size eggs are put in the upper trays of the vending
machine and the biggest one in the lower trays. The vending
machine accept 100 yen coins only. The farmer, Mr. Kiyoshi
Moroda, is bringing fresh eggs every morning from his farm
opposite the road. You may inquire there is the vending machine
is empty. He is catering 1.200 chickens of two different species.

The farm is located 200 meters from the Jeeps' Parking.
The Suzukis are selling directly many farm products. Originally a
sake brewer ("Toya") in the forties, they have then
converted to apple grower since.

The prices indicated above (around 400 Yen per kilo) denotes the
top quality and appearance variety. Some other quality of apple
may be available starting at 100 Yen per kilo and are perfectly
suitable for making juice or cooking.
Other sales :
Rice (Koshihikari variety) during the whole year. The newly
cropped rice ("Shinmai") is available from November. 2
Kg 1,000 Yen (packed in a PET bottle).
Mushroom from beginning of October to end of November: Mountain (wild)
mushrooms, shimeji, nameko, shiitake. 1 bag between 500 and 1,000
Yen.
Chesnuts from beginning of September to end-October. 1 Kg between
400 and 500 Yen.
"Umeboshi" (Salted plum) all the year . 500 g 500 Yen
or 1 Kg 1,200 Yen. Apple juice all the year: 1 L 650 Yen.

Many farm producers are selling directly their
products along the road. The season usually run between July and
October. Shops are often unattended and you will put your payment
in a box. Our preference goes to the Abe Farm stalls located on
National Road 291, half way between Kamimoku and the Jomo Kogen
Shinkansen station. You cannot miss them as there are next to
vynil houses. Pick-up there tomatoes, mini-tomatoes, cumcumber,
eggplant, spinash, cabbages, etc. Other sites exist on the road
to Tambara, as well as in Niiharu, etc.

Every do it yourself equipment, plus

shop is the only one selling beer, wine and liqueurs.
